The Story

The Stopham Story

We planted our vineyard 10 years ago in the sandy south facing six hectare slope at Stopham, a beautiful village in West Sussex in the South Downs National Park. We planted white and sparkling grape varieties, with the aim of crafting inspired, lovely and sustainable wines in our state-of-the-art winery.

Stopham Estate Pinot Gris 2016

If you like a little sweetness and texture in your wine, then our Pinot Gris may suit you. It is off-dry, with aromatic peach and pear fruit alongside the floral character on the nose. On the palate, this has excellent balance with crisp acidity. It is fairly full in body, with plenty of juicy fruit intensity, but is refreshing and long, with a lively citrus and stone fruit finish. Excellent with spicy dishes and roast pork.

Alcohol: 11.5%, Acidity: 7.5g/L, RS: 6g/L.

Stopham Estate Pinot Blanc 2015

Our Pinot Blanc is the driest wine we do. It has pear and primrose on the nose with pink grapefruit, melon and sweet fennel on the palate. It has zippy acidity balanced by a touch of sweetness which lasts well into the lengthy finish. Excellent with smoked fish.

Alcohol: 11.0%, Acidity: 7.0g/L, RS: 3g/L.

Stopham Estate Rosé 2015

Our Rosé is dry with soft summer fruits like strawberries and raspberries with a splash of cream.

Alcohol: 11.0%, Acidity: 5.0g/L, RS: 5g/L.

Stopham Estate Sparkling 2014

Our Sparkling Wine spent 30 months on lees before disgorgment and has a lovely taste honeyed brioche with grapefruit and citrus.

Alcohol: 12.5%, Acidity: 10.0g/L, RS: 12g/L. Excellent at parties and celebrations!
